The national bestselling collection of untold stories from World War 2’s legendary Band of Brothers. The story of the Airborne 101 has fascinated me before the Band of Brothers epic, but the original Ambrose book/series and multiple books that have followed have become a large part of my life. What these men went through, and the bonds they formed with each other is just awe inspiring boys really (its incredible to believe they were largely 19-23, or s. .what were YOU doing at that age? :) ) that changed the world.

From Marcus Brotherton, co-author of Call of Duty, comes a new collection of untold stories from the Band of.In this book, Mr. Brotherton gives us stories of war and post-war from 23 members of Easy Company that we have not read individual books about previously. The stories are direct quotes from the soldiers and are organized by chronological chapters. The book also has a very good section at the end called Memories of My Father written by children of three of the deceased members of Easy Company, I found the one written by Captain Sobel's son to be particularly interesting.

From Marcus Brotherton, co-author of Call of Duty, comes a new collection of untold stories from the Band of Brothers. They were the men of the now-legendary Easy Company. After almost two years of hard training, they parachuted into Normandy on DDay and, later, Operation Market Garden. They fought their way through Belgium, France, and Germany, survived overwhelming odds, liberated concentration camps, and drank a victory toast in April 1945 at Hitler's hideout in the Alps. Here, revealed for the first time, are stories of war, sacrifice, and courage as experienced by one of the most revered combat units in military history. In We Who Are Alive and Remain, twenty men who were there and are alive today-and the families of three deceased others-recount the horrors and the victories, the bonds they made, the tears and blood they shed...and the brothers they lost.

The story of the Airborne 101 has fascinated me before the Band of Brothers epic, but the original Ambrose book/series and multiple books that have followed have become a large part of my life. What these men went through, and the bonds they formed with each other is just awe inspiring. Regular men...boys really (its incredible to believe they were largely 19-23 , or so...what were YOU doing at that age? :) ) that changed the world. I tend to buy a lot of books as I come across them (virtually all WW2, european theater) and then play catch up with them. We Who Are Alive and Remain sat on the shelf for awhile. So glad I finally chose it. I love the chronology, and also hearing from men that weren't in the spotlight as some of the others featured in the series. Amazing interviews (and photos) and stories of their journey. Excellently edited and organized. It was an interesting mix of men interviewed. You can tell they have/had very different personalities and views about their experiences. Very interesting read, hard to put down. It's a quick read, perfect to round out the summer.

After reading the book "voices of the Pacific" of our brave Marines that fought and died in the Pacific, I decided I wanted to read this book. Although it was good, it didn't go into the same detail. It still was a very enjoyable book and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in WWII

A great book that follow a Band of Brothers, or is it the other way around? These warriors are a clear example of the kind of people that their generation provided. The best of the best in the pages. Moving, powerful accounts, one of the best war accounts one is likely to read in their lifetime. The writer as good as they come. 5 Stars.

My son is 13 and he dislikes reading. But this book he finished. I can not give you more details than that. The fact that he finished it says quite a bit.

Be aware this is not a structured narrative like a novel - it's segmented pieces of each soldier's short take on a situation.
Great reading though.

Basically a rewrite of testimonials of those that participated in the WWII battles of the European theatre. It is superbly written, or documented. I never grow tired of hearing or reading about the remarkable feats this group of WWII heros performed as very young men of the greatest generation that fought for world peace and an end to barbaric oppression. Warning: Once you begin reading this book, you will not be able to put it down until you are finished!

This is absolutely the best book I have read in years (about WW2). This is a must buy if you are interested in military history at all. Living history stories from WW2 are very rare these days. Very well written. I have the upmost respect for these men after reading this book.
Having read all of the recent books recounting the history of Easy Company, 506th PIR, 101st Airborne Division, I find this an important contribution to the history of that unit and the history of World War II. I was privileged to be on a Band of Brother' tour accompanied by Frank Perconte, one of the original Tocoa members of Easy Company and a contributor to the book. The author, Marcus Brotherton takes you on a journey through WWII through the eyes of 20 members of Easy Company. Each tells his own story of that journey. If you enjoyed reading the "Band of Brothers" along with the other books about Easy Company, you will definitely enjoy this book. It is an interesting and easy read.
