Reitman should be commended for her courage in bringing to light an unforgiveable human tragedy. In other countries those in charge of the Red Cross blood program would have been jailed for their callous disregard of human life. With warnings and red flags galore, instead of admitting there was a terrible problem with the blood supply, the Red Cross blood program officials calculatedly chose to proceed with the status quo. Their actions cost the lives of the very people whom the Red Cross was established to help.

This is one of our favorite True Crime books in this house because it goes to prove "anything is possible." This woman is one of the most dysfunctional individuals I have ever heard about (and I worked in the prison system!) and thank (whoever is in charge) one part of the family escaped her madness. If you want to read about a crazed bunch of people and a bizarre case from hell, check this 1 out. Cat sez, 3 paws up!

I knew the man who was brutally murdered. Bob worked for Amagansett Radio / WSL sending and receiving Morse code messages to and from ships all over the world. He used a Vibroplex semi-automatic key, and he sent so amazingly well, that it was surely music to any ship's radio officer. This tragedy gets even worse because of liberalism where (sadly) women can erode justice by claiming abuse, even if their claims are fraudulent. I believe the murderer was released from prison for what the governor of NY termed leniency. We are a nation of laws and though there are times for equity in law, this murder was meticulously planned, carried out and hidden from others. Surely the murderer was mentally ill, but even the mentally ill know right from wrong.

Have you ever met someone who set all your alarm bells off? The sociopathic mother/grandmother in this book is such a person and I have known several of them in my lifetime. You find their constant drama interesting and scary, but try to stand out of the way so you won't get sucked into the wreckage. It is hard to see the rest of the family destroyed by this monstrous and selfish person, yet we know that many families have these kind of problems. True enough, most people don't shoot their husbands, stuff them in the attic and try to kill the odor of decomposition with stick-up air fresheners. But many of them do approach the various little disasters they cause in the same unrealistic and stupid way. I felt thoroughly sorry for the victim, for the family psychological victims, and for all who had to deal with this woman. Well researched story I think.

My name is lori coco and I am the grandaughter of the woman in this book. I just wanted to thank the writer, Judith ,for finally making public aware of the the families side of this horrible ordeal. And may my grandfather, Bob, finally rest in peace with all the dignity he deserves. Thank you for reading my comments, If people realized what a horrible time in our lives that this represented and what destruction it has caused the families involved. My life will never be the same. I hope this helps everyone remember that sometimes justice is served even if it takes a very long time to happen.
