All of the biographical D'Aulaire books are gorgeously illustrated!! My children love to sit with them just to look at the illustrations. The stories inside are well written, and make a great addition to our history curriculum for the lower elementary grades.

Another good intro book for my 8 yr. old Irish grandson!

Kids age 3-11 all loved this book. The story is well told and the art is very detailed and engaging. We read it for history with school but the little ones were just as engaged.

The best hard bound book on the subject. Easy to read and factual, but without all the erroneous romantisism about John Smith and Pocahontas that typically accompany most writings and movies on the indian princess..
