I use this book to introduce an end of the fourth grade school year. After reading and discussing the book, the students bring a shoe box to school, and one small item for everyone in the class. One of the last days of school, the kids explain why they chose what they are giving to every, and then pass the item out. It has become something the new students who have siblings that were in a previous class, look forward to. Sometimes emotional, sometimes silly, always fun.

A beautiful book. My 8 year old daughter kept on checking this out at the library. I finally gave in and bought it. It's a beautiful sweet story. Sweetly sentimental.

My copy of A Box of Friends arrived promptly. It was in excellent condition. Furthermore, I was thrilled to discover that I had purchased it from a site which supports libraries. I would certainly purchase from this seller again. The book itself is excellent. I would like to purchase additional copies as gifts but it is regrettably out of print and very hard to find.

I was very pleased with not only the book, but the service! I can't wait to use it in my classroom in the spring! I am going to have my students make frindship boxes and each bring in something that represents themselves. Then I will have them put it in the boxes...everyone takes home their box filled with memories of their frinds.

I used this book to introduce memory boxes to my first grade class. It was perfect to illustrate how simple items could remind each of us about friends we made this year.
