This book shows some of the careers people have and how they contribute to the community. I bought this book to teach 1st and 2nd graders about what a community is. It not only discusses the differences between rural, urban, and suburban areas, it discusses what people, jobs, and houses can be found in each one. The only drawback is that the book isn't very large, making it difficult for all the kids to see the pictures in a read aloud.

By National Geographic Learning. I really enjoyed this book, because it is fun and interesting how people did that and sent the girl in the book Katje the boxes with the things the people in Holland needed at that time. I also liked the end. 2. Reply.

Boring pictures!

This book is very small and basic, just information about jobs. The review I read said it was great for first and second graders and discussed rural, urban, and suburban communities. It does not. It is not going to work for my first grade class.
