Global warming is the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system.

Global warming is the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system. It is a major aspect of climate change and has been demonstrated by direct temperature measurements and by measurements of various effects of the warming. Global warming and climate change are often used interchangeably

Global warming is the biggest problem in the world today. Everyone know about it but not everyone is trying to stop it. Many world leaders are more interested in blaming other countries for the crisis.

Global warming is the biggest problem in the world today. Countries like China, India and Russia say they will not act unless America takes more action. America says it will not act until other countries take more action. It seems a little childish that leaders are acting in this way. The future of our world is at risk and governments can only argue with each other. Many presidents and prime ministers tell us that technology is the answer

Global warming is one of the most talked about science subjects today. Answers for Young Readers is a fairly unique book, as far as I know.

Global warming is one of the most talked about science subjects today. What Are Global Warming and Climate Change? Answers For Young Readers. It explains climate change, contextualized global warming, discusses causes and consequences and directly addresses the politics of climate change and global warming

Global Warming is majorly the result of the increased Greenhouse effect. Because of this phenomenon, the water level of both sea and ocean has increased. Such a high increase in the level of water is unwanted and risky too as it can even result in a natural calamity like a flood. We must take strict actions to prevent such natural disasters and to save our planet Earth.

A global conversation that began with concern over warming has now turned to the broader term climate change . Recent books such as Drawdown and Designing Climate Solutions have proposed bold and comprehensive yet simple plans for reversing our current course

A global conversation that began with concern over warming has now turned to the broader term climate change, preferred by scientists to describe the complex shifts now affecting our planet’s weather and climate systems. Climate change encompasses not only rising average temperatures but also extreme weather events, shifting wildlife populations and habitats, rising seas, and a range of other impacts. Recent books such as Drawdown and Designing Climate Solutions have proposed bold and comprehensive yet simple plans for reversing our current course. The ideas vary, but the message is consistent: We already have many of the tools needed to address climate change.

Earth is a big, beautiful planet that we share with thousands of plants and animals. But carbon dioxide and methane gases are creating global warming and threatening our world. We only have one earth and we must do all we can to look after it. Luckily, there are several things we can do to protect our planet and slow down global warming. It's all about being sustainable and there are many things children just like you can do to help out. "Global Warming for Young Minds has been a great help teaching my son Daniel about our planet and how fragile it is." -- Helen Carter, Hampshire, UK "My two children simply love it. 10 out of 10 for making such a difficult subject fun and interesting." -- Harry Parks, UK "The book is really colorful and interesting, and I love the fun activities." -- Emily Grey, 8 years old. "Global Warming for Young Minds is very informative for children and adults, alike. This book would be useful in schools as a learning tool." -- Elaine Greenwood, retired teacher. After reading Flemming Bermann's Evolution for Young Minds: An Evolution and Natural Selection Guide for Children, my daughters asked me to bring them a book by the same author. They had enjoyed it that much!
Fortunately, I have found Global Warming for Young Minds: A Global Warming and Sustainability Guide For Children. Just like in the other book by Flemming Bermann, the structure is perfectly suited for the content. The graphical elements and the layout are carefully designed to capture the reader's attention and underline the main points of the message.
The book starts with the presentation of our planet, its beauty and treasures. Water, air, and life make the Earth very special. If we wanted to move houses, we would have nowhere to go. Nothing as special as Earth is within our reach. Earth is unique, at least in this part of the Universe--and that is why we need to take great care of the only planet in our possession.
The layers of air around the Earth look like onion rings--a useful simile. The atmosphere surrounding and protecting the Earth is made up of gases. Two of the gases in the atmosphere can be dangerous in large quantities: carbon dioxide and methane. The author explains why: because their presence triggers, raises, and maintains the dangers of global warming.
Who is responsible for the rapid increase in the quantity of carbon dioxide and methane? Man: every one of us. When we use our cars, planes, and power stations, we deliver carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When we bury huge mountains of waste in refuse dumps, methane emerges. Both those gases contribute to the global warming.
Who suffers directly the first consequences of global warming? Handy examples are polar bears, penguins, and insects. The book tells us how and why their very survival is at stake.
Can we help? The second part of the book explains what our responsibility is toward our environment and how we can help by saving energy and recycling refuse.
The author introduces all those ideas step by step, marking the most important elements with questions, rephrased answers, and quizzes. There are plenty to-the-point illustrations, playing an important role in conveying the meaning: photos, color drawings, diagrams etc.
The author has found the best method to explain the basics of global warming to children of all ages. All schools should buy lots of copies of this book, because pupils will love it, absorb its contents and put into practice the ideas and advice contained in it.
My daughters did just that!

Scientific concepts can be challenging for children. Chemical names and processes make science difficult. However Flemming Berman has produced a book that makes the concepts of Global Warming accessible for children of all ages. The book is colourful, accurate and written in a language children will understand. It is also a lot of fun, the learning checks and fun breaks are fantastic. I highly recommend this book for any children's collection.

This is an excellent way to introduce a young person to a subject that is constantly in the news. Home schooling is popular in my family because of today's cultural disarray and I have suggested this book to the mothers responsible.
