I like these books a lot even though I'm in mt 30's and they are geared for a younger crowd. They are a very easy read, lots of action, and remind me a lot of Harry Potter in a Japanese setting.

What I liked most about this book is that it offers a lot of Japanese culture, which makes it educational in a very unexpected way. Not only do you get glimpses of Japanese history, you also get a lesson in language, food, politics, and Samurai code. Even having taken Japanese classes in college, I found myself learning things I never knew.

These are good books for any age that are interested in Japanese culture. Well written. I will look forward to the continuing story.

The story is slow to come to a rythm and it seems that all volumes are simply the same concept as the previous one, just stretched in a new way. Overall, I had not realized that these books were so short, priced so high and you can find better novels (Shogun, Musashi,..) which are much longer and hence 10 times cheaper. I did not buy book 6, I started another novel. In fact, I regret having bought all five volumes, it took me too long to realize the motivation of the author.

Actually love this series. But the way this story plays on the historical history of Japan along with the action makes one wish this was a Netflix mini series.
