Dr. White once again takes us into the African story - weaving his medical career as a doctor and the story of the African people into a story all ages will enjoy and learn from. You will learn about medicine in the 1930-1940's and see the sweetness of the people Dr. White served and served with in the hospital.

What is fantastic about these stories is they are all true! One thing I have found is that my boys love literature, but they also love true stories. They are 11 and 14 and we read these aloud. The vocabulary is also a plus - you will learn African phrases and the culture as it was when the stories were written.

I had given my boys the audio set of books - they were not interested in them. Then on a whim, I pulled a book from the shelf, and despite the more juvenile cover, they were completely hooked within the first few pages.

I have found that a book has its own time. Sometimes we try a story, and it needs to be put on the shelf until another time. This was one of those books, and I am so glad we gave them another try! We are on the third story, with many more to enjoy.

As A child I already heard the Jungle doctos'a stories from Africa, Stories which teach simple & deep Biblical truths in a lively, simple to understand & often humoristic way. You also learn about real everyday life in the Jungle, and how with very simple means it is possible to help many people when there is the willingness & heart to serve. I want my children to hear these almost classical stories,to enjoy & learn from.
