Pv. 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; it is the honor of Kings to search it out ... Here in this book, the work has been done for you. All you need to do is read ...
Hold a $50 dollar bill up to the light and you'll see the watermark ... Read this book and you'll see the PROOF that scripture is genuinely from our creator!

This book is not "mining" for coincidences! Look them up if you like; just don't think you can predict future events by searching them out.

When I purchased this book and began to read it, I did so thinking that it would be a somewhat intriguing diversion from all the ugliness of the atrocities of Sept. 11 and their aftermath. But I doubted that it was anything that I should take seriously. I have been a Christian for many years, and have heard all kinds of theories regarding Biblical interpretation, from numerology to non-Christian mysticism. So I wasn't quite sure what I should expect from this book. The topic of hidden Biblical codes was mildly interesting to me, but somehow - out there; the stuff of pseudo science, pseudo religion and Fox Molder.
"Cracking the Bible Code" surprised me in that it does not sensationalize or subjectively promote its topic. Rather, it begins by telling a series of biographical stories that illustrate the long and rich history of the Jews and their devotion to the Torah both as Holy Scripture, and as God's Puzzle to be pieced together by the faithful. Eventually, these stories include the development of modern day encryption/decription technology, and the application of some of this technology to continue the ancient pursuit of hidden mysteries of the Torah. The results are astounding.
As a Christian, I believe that science and the theology are investigating the same mystery. The two are at once compatible but divergent. The more scientific information we gather, the more we learn of the act of creation, and even of the mind of God. "Cracking the Bible Code" follows this theme, but perhaps leaves the reader with more wonder than answers. Dr. Satinover seems especially aware of the temptation for the Jewish and Christian believer to loose objectivity with regard to this subject, and strives to stay focused on the facts (as he sees them) and present to the reader a 4000 year old drama that has yet to be finished.

There are several books about the Bible/Torah Codes, and I can't claim to have read them all. The first I'd seen was Michael Drosnin's which is of limited value. So when Dr. Satinover's book arrived at my bookstore (now sadly gone), a co-worker called my attention to it. What a treasure it is!!! I devoured every word, have given copies away several times, and cannot get over the information contained in this book. I was raised to believe every word of the Bible is God's direct message to mankind. This book carries that to a whole new level. The respect and devotion with which Dr. Satinover and those he worked with on this book regard God's Word is beyond anything I'd ever experienced. What they believe regarding the Codes is presented with profound regard for what they are and what they definitely are NOT--a "biblical" means of foretelling the future like Drosnin rather accidentally did. Read this book from cover to cover--notes, appendices and all. It is absolutely packed with information that will leave you breathless. I promise, you will never pick up your Bible the same way again!!!

My wife and I had seen a book listed in amazon by Michael Drosnin, but we found most of what was said of it to indicate it was not a real study of the subject. Dr. Satinover's book was the book we purchased when we found it. This book, in my view, is still the one book a person should start with if they are truly interested in the research of the Torah Codes. It is the most simple and yet most comprehensive introduction to the history and study of the Torah in light of the encoded information. In my honest opinion buy this book FIRST by all means. You will not be disappointed whether you are convinced of the evidence or not.

The book is an enjoyable, informative read though some of the logic fails. That Bereshit contains encoded information is proven by the best of inductive logic technique. Then the Heaviside technique employed to show that the rest of the books in the Torah also contain encoded information. It seems like an ostrich philosophy to contend that the balance of the Tanakh is not amenable to the Heaviside technique.
