In our age that says, "anything goes", Crossdressing for Christians gave me some thought provoking ideas. A history lesson and a lesson on our age is combined with Biblical thought in a great way. It is one I would recommend, not to change you, but to get you thining of how to dress.

I have not read the book, but until recently, the author was a friend of mine on facebook, and I talked to her extensively on the subject matter. Her premise to me...and all others is...the BIBLE TEACHES (aka it's scriptural) that pants are for men only and that modesty for women is defined as wearing a dress.

Being fairly well versed in the Bible, I knew neither of those claims could be substantiated in scripture, but I asked her if she could back them up with scripture.

These are the passages she gave, which when you read them, you will find that not a single one of them tells us pants are gender specific, or that modesty for a woman is defined by wearing a dress. In fact, none of them even made any sense in light of the context in which she was using them.

Genesis 3:21, Exodus 28:42, Deuteronomy 22:5, Isaiah 47.2, 1 Tim 2:9.

This is how bizarre her rationalizing is. I said, Exodus 28.42 is SPECIFICALLY telling how Aaron's sons, the Levitical priests, should fashion their UNDERWEAR. If you know anything about the Bible, you will know that the priests wore clothes that were exclusive to them, and told by the All Mighty how they should be made, and that description is found in Exodus 28.

When I pointed out that NONE of the passages she was using supports her argument, and specifically showed her Exodus 28.42, the author reasoned to me that these are PANTS that the priests are being commanded to wear, not undergarments aka underwear type garments, and the priests were men and therefore the command to wear pants is to all men. Two massive leaps the author takes with the text that are completely out of context and inappropriate.

Exodus 28.42 is prefaced by Exodus 28.40 which clearly defines who SPECIFICALLY the alleged pants are for. Here it is:

Exodus 28:40
40 “For Aaron’s sons...

For Aaron's son. Aaron's sons who are of the Levitical Priesthood. To no other person, male or female is the command for these pants, underwear, whatever you want to call them, they are for no other person except the priests.

When I pointed this out to the author, she defriended me from facebook, deleted the entire thread, and REPOSTED her original claim, once I was defriended.

This tells me that the author sees VERY CLEARLY that her claims in the book cannot be substantiated with scripture as she says. She had plenty of opportunity to prove it with me and the others who were in the thread and reading the thread and as you can see by the passages above that she gave all those in the thread as proof, NOT A SINGLE SCRIPTURE SHE POSTED shows that according to the Bible, pants are gender specific to men, and modesty for women is defined by them wearing dresses.

In the end, the last post she made before she deleted ME and the thread was this:

"With this I close. The truth is out there if you want to find it and all roads will affirm the truth. Seek, knock ,ask, search with all your heart-this issue involves abomination -very serious."

Truth to who? An abomination to who? Very serious to who?

Clearly the All Mighty has NOTHING to do with the author's claims.
