Levi has had a crush on Sarah since they were in grade school. When she decided to marry his best friend Jonas, he said nothing, but when Jonas lay dying he made a promise to look out for Sarah until she remarried. Sarah believes everyone she loves will die before her so she vows to never remarry. However that doesn't stop her from seeing her husband's best friend happily married. Who knew matchmaking could be so much fun? However Levi catches on and does some matchmaking himself and Sarah doesn't know what to make of her growing feelings for Levi.

I really liked the characters. Levi appears to be the silent brooding type but he's just really shy and loyal to a fault. he takes his promise to his best friend seriously even though (spoiler) he's wanted to move to the mountains for years. He wants to confess his feelings but doesn't know how she feels. Sarah is lonely bit doesn't feel like marriage is God's will for her. She's starting to like him but doesn't think he likes her because he seems to barely tolerate her presence. Another case where everything would be solved if the couipls would only communicate from the beginning, but if they did there would be no ancticipation of their developing realtionship, which was written very well. The minor characters are humorous, but the twin brothers do get a little annnoying but not so much that you can't enjoy the story.
There is nothing absolutley WOW about this book, but don't let that stop you from reading it. It's simple and not overly complicated but still entertaining. If you enjoy a quick clean read with a subtle inspirational message definitley read this book.

Lovely story about Sarah and Levi. Sarah is a widow who lives on her own. The community wants and expects her to remarry. Levi dreams about moving to a new community in Colorado, but is bound by his family responsibilities at home -- particularly the raising of his younger twin brothers. When his sister goes away to think over her relationship with her beau, Levi needs help corraling his brothers. Sarah steps in to help.

The twins drove me nuts with their antics, which usually had a malicious bent to them, all in the name of fun. Levi was a love, and Sarah was obviously his match. When Mary asked Sarah to help her find Levi a wife...well, that's when the real fun begins! A really sweet book -- one of my favorites by Ms Davids.

How many times have you've met someone that's had a hard time for one reason or another. It might not even show, but yet they're made to feel like an outcast. You stay by yourself, and then you find true love in a loving family. Sounds like a Fairy Tale??? Things like this happen every day but it also shows you the hurt, heartbreak, humiliation. But life goes on no matter what.

For my wife. Another good series.

I have come to love this series by Patricia Davids. It's full of characters that pull you right into the story. And I love the way that she brings old characters back into the story lines, so that you might be able to tell what is going on in their lives. This book was a good read too! I really like love stories that bring God into them, and this author does that well.

It's nice to know that I can select any story by Ms. Davids and know that I'll be thoroughly entertained. A Hope Springs Christmas is a wonderful way to spend a chilly afternoon or evening.

Ms. Davids writes a mean novel. I mainly look for novels with a substance that keeps my attention from the first word and her books definitely fits the bill. You will not be dissatisfied!
I read the sample for this book first, liked it, also liked the story line from the summary I read, and knew I wanted to read this book...still smiling about the matchmaking going on. Great book, looking forward to reading other books in the Hope Springs series.
