How precious has been the realization for every believer that our sins were crucified with Christ two thousand years ago. I recall being challenged to "live like I believed" I was forgiven and it completely transformed my life. Jessie Penn-Lewis challenged me 30 years after my conversion (and 100 years after her death) that I can have a vibrant, thriving, intimate relationship with Christ today as I comprehend that I was crucified then too...so no more striving, no more empty religious exercises...As I comprehend that I am in Christ and He in me, that I can do nothing apart from Him (the same thing Jesus said of His relationship with the Father in John 5), I have been refreshed anew.

Jessie Penn-Lewis does get a little side-tracked at times, but generally her understanding of the work of the cross in the life of the believer is very helpful, especially for those who receive no church-based teaching on the topic.

This book gives incredible revelations about the cross and how it should be our central focal point in our daily walk with Christ, if we are going to live in victory and to be holy as Christ is holy.
