Or, in the eyes of yaoi fans, it's something not unusual to think of how we sometimes can be so against het relationship in any yaoi story because it is a yaoi story. This time, I thought of something else and I have my own reason.

Peanut butter and chocolate, Fred and Ginger, Gundam villains and helmets--there are some combinations that are just meant to be.

When I saw that this book was a joint production between Satosumi Takaguchi("Shout Out Loud"--if you haven't read it yet, for shame) and Yukine Honami ("Rin!", "Constellations in My Palm") I knew I had to read it. I did feel a bit of trepidation beforehand: would this manga measure up to the individual works of the artists? The answer: yes, it does.

The story kicks off when high school junior Orie Nakano discovers (in one of the most alarming ways possible) that his girlfriend is sleeping with Tatsumi, another classmate of theirs, and that, even worse, she's also involved with Orie's adored "sempai" Suguru. To go any further would be to give away crucial parts of the plot (which, oddly, June doesn't seem to have any qualms about doing with their cover copy), but I think it's sufficient to say that the rest of it unfolds in the intense, absorbing, fashion that one would expect from Takaguchi. Other reviewers have called it "confusing," but I'd say instead that it's emotionally complex, one of those rich stories that make you think, ah, so that's what was going on, and that reward rereading.

Honami's art is as softly beautiful and expressive as ever; it's a joy to see a mangaka be able convey volumes with such attention to detail. The larger format and good print quality of June's books is particularly welcome here, as it shows off Honami's work to best effect. And it's a real relief to have a translation free of the spotty quality issues that mar so many of the BL releases in English; this one leaves readers free to just enjoy the story.

The only caveat I can think of is that this one's a real angst-fest--there's nothing cute or funny about it--so if you're looking for a light diversion, it's not the title to choose. That said, its quality in all other respects makes it highly recommended. Enjoy.

School-age manga with a mix of encounters, although primarily yaoi - one woman is seeing three men for a while, then the three men can only see each other. There's the usual confusing consent issues that seem to crop up in most BL stories, but there's also many emotions and issues that crop up between the 4 main characters.

I think the story is beautiful, despite several moments where I think I lost the plot, and the art definitely is simple and gorgeous. The plot is unlike any other BL book I've read, which is many by now. I would have given this book 4 stars if not for the confusion, and 5 if not for the consent issues, which always bother me. You might also chalk the confusion up to cultural differences, I'm not sure. I'm still recommending this book if you're pretty deep into BL reading in English.
DEAD-SHOT
I bought this manga looking for something interesting and what I got was a complex emotional roller coaster that stemmed from three boys in love or screwing the same girl. I found it kind of refreshing to see a little het in a yaoi manga but also found it slightly odd until the very end when it made scene to me. XD.

The story takes place in a high School setting and as i said before involves three boys that are romantically involved with the same girl. They all go to the same school (the three guys and the girl) and yet no one seemed to realize the girl had 3 boyfriends. Anyway aside from that side note it was a very interesting emotional manga that had to deal with letting go, obsession and hidden emotions. it was a very interesting read. I would and have recommended it to friends.

i must start by saying that i'm a big fan of the artists other works so when i found this book i couldn't wait to read it and i was so disappointed that a gave it to a friend so that she could bury it....she probably didn't

the bad points!

half the story is about a sick girl who decides that since shes going to die anyway then she may as well whore herself about, maybe i might only be annoyed by that because i don't want to see girls romanticized in a YAOI book.

the plot just seems so half arsed. this cant be a story about grief its to shallow. eg a boy rapes another boy because he liked sex more than their dead girlfriend...what? has the writer never dealt with the loss of a loved one or is it normal to rape some one when your upset.

the drawing seems lazy not the artists best work many of the character's looked the same, and the hentai scenes were disappointing. its "threesome" was one half drawn image.

maybe i,v been spoiled by books like Finder, tyrant falls in love, only the ring finger knows and pet on duty. i wished i had not wasted my time or money on this book:(

I agree that this is a very confusing book. The plot is basically this: a highschool girl is sleeping with three men. When she leaves, the three men are left hanging and end up getting it on. Sounds confusing? That's pretty much the book. It's a little more complicated than that, but not by much...

All over, other books drawn by Yukine Honami score higher on my list, but no matter what comes out by her, I will always buy it because it's so pretty. This was no exception.

Of course, I don't like it much when girls are involved in my yaoi books, which is one reason this book wasn't 5 stars. It doesn't make sense that because three boys love one girl that they would all get together afterwards. In other news: Threesome=yummy.

Bottom line: Confusing as hell, but beautiful and very emotional. If you're a rabid fan, this is definitely one to add to the collection.
