College Physics, Volume 1 book.

While physics can seem challenging, its true quality is the sheer simplicity of fundamental physical theories--theories and concepts that can enrich your view of the world around you. COLLEGE PHYSICS, Ninth Edition, provides a clear strategy for connecting those theories to a consistent problem-solving approach, carefully reinforcing this methodology throughout the text and connecting it to real-world examples. For students planning to take the MCAT exam, the text includes exclusive test prep and review tools to help you prepare.

WARNING, as numerous others mentioned, there is NO END-OF-CHAPTER QUESTIONS for every chapter. If your prof assigns these questions, you will not have them. I found it to be very dishonest for the company and seller to leave out this critical information that could potentially lower a student's academic grade. Also, shame on the publisher for deciding to withhold these helpful questions from students' education. And then, giving only the questions IF you buy the vastly more expensive HARDBACK edition. "Hybrid" edition? "Seriously compromised edition" would be closer to the truth.

Vent over.

In the kindle textbook, all of equations have the symbols replaced with numbers. For instance it would be length 5 width 5 height 1 volume, instead of length x width x height = volume. It does this in all examples and problems. It is especially frustrating. There is nothing wrong with the textbook itself, just the kindle version.

This textbook was completely useless and I am a student who does actually read the textbook. I use it quite extensively for studying. (I graduated summa cum laude and I'm not saying that to brag. I'm just saying it so you know I wasn't a lazy student who just got mad about studying a textbook.) This book was the required book for my Physics 2 class. I have never read a textbook that did such a poor job of explaining things and having awful examples. In fact, I'd say it was the worst textbook I have ever had for any class. Out of all the questions on homework or exams, it, maybe, helped with 2 of them. It doesn't go into anything advanced at all. I utilized google and youtube videos for physics studying. They provided much better examples and explanations of concepts for understanding. I suggest you do the same, if this is the book you are required to use.

99% identical as the last version. would not recommend.

Needed this book for class didn't want to buy the book at 170 at current time tried to rent it but the rental was 100 for hardcover. Ended up renting the kindle version which is more a hassle than anything pages don't flow you have to zoom in to read anything and with little control in viewing options. I don't recommend renting the online version.

I bought the cheapo $30 international edition with the different cover and sketchy badge on the bottom right saying it's illegal to distribute in other countries (the description says this is not true but whatever). The badge had a sticker over it to hide it when I received it. Honestly would not care about this at all if the book were the same. It's not. It's printed in black and white. This makes it pretty useless since all the diagrams use color and have color coded vectors. Definitely will be sending this back. The description makes no note of this.

If your physics class uses end-of-chapter questions for review or homework, this "hybrid" paperback will NOT include them (there was no access code provided with mine, at least). This is a decent physics text overall, but if you need those end-of-chapter questions, rent the HARDBACK.
Okay, it IS a good book. If you're looking for a book with problems in the book.
DO NOT BUY IT. I was devasted when I found out it doesn't have practice problems, its all on webassign. If you have webassign for the class then yeah, thats fine.
