In 2007 when James Maxey's Bitterwood was published something grabbed my attention from the beginning. There are plenty of books about dragons out there, but Maxey takes the concept of dragons to the next level. Never before had I read a first chapter that intrigued me as much as Bitterwood did. These dragons weren't kind dragons walking around helping the world, instead they were evil creatures who enslaved humans and oppressed the human race.

Dragon age - 3 ). James Maxey. I don't think I can go on," Hemming whined as he slid down the bank, landing on a bed of gravel beside the river. Hemming was the oldest of the three slaves, a stooped, white-haired man in his late sixties. Apparently there are TWO prequels. I read Tornado of Sparks first then went in to Bitterwood, (book1). In the middle of Dragonforge, (book 2) I discovered Dawn of Dragons. I recommend reading Dawn first, then Sparks. Bitterwood, Dragonforge, then Dragonseed, (book 3). Story will flow better.
Didn't care for the "F" word in Dawn but it wasn't overdone. It seemed a very evil character used that word when she appeared in other parts of the books. Most of the time it was ok. Violence as expected with this type of story.
Well written. Kept me glued to the book. Intelligent dragons are always a draw for me.

This is a thoughtful, intelligent, and very interesting series filled with realistic characters you'll love and hate. I was blown away with many of the author's ideas. I highly recommended this author if you enjoy fantasy.

I have to say that James Maxey writes a great story with a twist on the post-holocaust fantasy. This is the third in the series and does end as though there might be another or maybe he can continue the world. I certainly would love to hear more of the Dragons' world.

When I first started reading Dragonseed (book 1), I thought that hmmm I am not going to like reading about talking dragons that have human slaves. But I kept reading and I have to tell you that I have thoroughly enjoyed all three books! I couldn't wait to read the next book. I'm sorry that there is not a fourth one or a fifth one. Good fantasy reading!!

Loved the entire series - some really inventive ideas in the story
Lots of fun! Suspense and surprises. Got a little weird with the green goddess creature and her world. Hated Pet got killed off. He was often annoying then died when he got it together.
