Book one: blood of requiem.

I just finished reading all three books in the Song of Dragons. Kept me up I couldn't wait to turn the next page to see where the Dragons were going. How they were going to survive.

I really like Daniel Arenson's work. He should keep writing for the rest of his life. it's really only the last book in the series that I found this true. This item: Requiem: Song of Dragons (The Complete Trilogy). Customers who bought this item also bought.

Song of Dragons Trilogy (Blood of Requiem, Tears of Requiem, Light of Requiem) - Daniel Arenson. and whose last survivors dream of flying again. Daniel Arenson's books are like a nice B movie that you enjoy with a bunch of mates and a bucket of popcorn, most of which you plan on throwing at other members of the audience rather than eating yourself. Maybe thats a bit harsh. his books aren't bad by any means, in fact he's a very good writer. He just suffers heavily from spectacle creep.

They too became dragons, as cruel and beautiful as the true dragons of old. Some became elder beasts missing . In the books of men they were noble, warriors of light and righteousness, sent by the Sun God to fight the curse of Requiem, the wickedness of scales and leathery wings. Some became elder beasts missing scales, their fangs long fallen. To Requiem they were monsters. Today Benedictus saw thousands of them, swooping beasts of feathers and talons.

At first when I started reading this trilogy it felt like it was trying to repeat what happened in the previous trilogy. However after about half way through the first book the story started to take on its own identity. After that the story started to get pretty good. The characters are developed quite well and are easy to get attached to. For those who enjoy a good adventure and dragons I would recommend this trilogy.

Book 1
This book had me hooked right from the prologue. The Vir Requis immediately get you to vouch for their side to win. Dies Irea is the perfect villain; you don't feel any desire for him to win. I get upset that Benedictus just won't kill him but when they talk about Dies' past, you do wonder "would he have behaved/thought differently if he'd been treated with more respect as a child?"
The action is non-stop, nor do you want it to stop. The battles are always intense and keep you spell-bound. This is a VERY difficult book to put down. I can't wait to read the other books in the series and I just want the Vir Requis to to win. I hope there are more Vir Requis still alive and in hiding because they are such a noble race; they can't be allowed to die.

Book 2
I'm so sad it's over :( I want to know what continues to happen in the story but I also want the books to last forever. I want to get lost in the world of Requiem and Osanna. It's that good.
But, since all good things don't last forever, I have finished Tears of Requiem and I loved it. The action was non-stop. The characters continued to be enthralling. The new adventures continued to be surprising with new twists and turns at every corner.
The book is well written and makes sense. I love reading from all the characters perspectives rather then only hearing the story from one of them's perspective.
Well, that's all I'm gonna write for now because I gotta get back to reading Light of Requiem! The adventure continues!!

Book 3
O my gosh that was amazing!! I'm glad to finally know the full story, but I'm so sad!! I don't want to leave the stories of Kyrie and Gloriae and Agnus Dei and Memoria and Terra and all the new additions. I'm so grateful the author actually gave more details after the war so we know what really happened and aren't left in the dark, although he did run through it very quickly. I can't wait to start reading the Dragonlore trilogy, but I'm gonna wait till the third one comes out. I know I'm gonna be dying from anxiousness to know what happens when I finish book 2 so I'm saving myself the trauma lol.

Daniel's imagination is out of this world. I love anything that has to do with dragons. They are fascinating creatures and I have been enamoured by them since I was a child. As I got older I was compelled to gobble up everything i could about them. I was sunken deep into these stories like I was actually there feeling thier angst, fighting their fight, feeling thier pain. I hated Dies Irae with a passion and i wanted him dead! Dead! dead! Daniel you took too long to get rid of this tyrant. I was almost in tears and gritted my teeth with frustration each time I thought this was it for Dies he came back again and triumphed and i hated him even more. When Benedictus died I put down the book and screamed in anger and frustration!!! (Haha...good thing I live alone). I had to take up the book again and read on. the story is wonderful and I loved it but i also hated it. It was cruel, vicious, hurtful, frustrating, glorious, beautiful, haunting, poignant, crazy, adrenaline-pumping...and brilliant.!! Kudos Daniel. Keep them coming.

I just finished reading all three books in the Song of Dragons. Kept me up I couldn't wait to turn the next page to see where the Dragons were going. How they were going to survive. I just started the next trilogy which is Dragonlore. It's very hard to set these books down. Great writing to Daniel Arenson. I love his Dragon books.

I really like Daniel Arenson's work. He should keep writing for the rest of his life. I know that he gets some beef from other people about his characters needing to be developed more, and the plots all being the same-despair, dark, and grotesque...it's really only the last book in the series that I found this true. I don't think that it's a matter of him needing to be a better writer because of these things, but rather his writing style is more unconventional than the rest, and causes your mind to stretch in new ways. I loved the characters in the book, he did a really good job at making you want things to work out for the good guys, and not so much for the bad ones. If you want to read something that will stick with you then this is your book.
