Juan Cabrillo and his CIA-backed Oregon crew must beat opposing factions to a meteorite that could end the conflict between America and the Middle East in this novel in the New York Times-bestselling series. Two embattled groups seek a 50,000-year-old meteorite first discovered and then hidden by Eric the Red and his Vikings. Lost City is a nerve-shredding NUMA Files novel from Clive Cussler, international bestseller  . As well as the NUMA Files series there are also the Oregon Files, the Dirk Pitt stories (which started it all), the Isaac Bell adventures and the Fargo series.

It was like reading a movie script instead of a novel. Worst Cussler novel that I have ever read.

Clive Cussler is the author of more than fifty books in five bestselling series, including Dirk Pitt, NUMA Files, Oregon Files, Isaac Bell, and Fargo. His life nearly parallels that of his hero Dirk Pitt. It was like reading a movie script instead of a novel.

Of all the Cussler books I've read, this is a major disappointment. There are way too many characters. The plot line...actually there were two plot lines...was so boring that the book was overflowing with "filler text". i.e., pages upon pages of dreary scene descriptions. etc. I make a point of finishing every book I start, and that was a hard rule to follow with this book...but I did finish it. Yawn.

Very convoluted and complex. Too many characters to keep track of in too many places. Not reasonable outcomes. Other Clive Cussler novels read better

I was a big fan of Clive Cussler, so when I saw this I gave it a try.
It has a lot on moving parts, but it never bogged down trying to explain all the details.
"The company" chases two devices all over the world, trying to stop a nuke from destroying a major city.
Lots of players and I lost track of the names. Yes there's a glossary at the beginning, but on a Kindle, it's no help. None the less, you keep up with the story line even though there are some major glitches in the plot. Like a helicopter pilot who never runs out of flying time or needs rest.
All in all a fun read.

I had read this book a few years ago, so this was a second reading. In general, I like Clive Cussler books, and in particular I like the Oregon Files books! I decided to go back and start from the beginning and read these again on my Kindle. There’s a lot going on in this book, but nothing the crew of the Oregon can’t handle. Multiple plot lines come together with a good cast of characters. Just an enjoyable read! I can’t wait to get to the third book in the series!

While this is a typical Cussler book -- lots of plot twists and interesting locales -- it is also an enjoyable one. The characters he creates are interesting and identifiable and the story, while not necessarily keeping the reader in suspense since, with Cussler, the good guys always win, is engaging.

It's a definite plus that Cussler has created more than one entity for his stories -- this allows them to remain fresh.

While not the best he's ever done, certainly a worthwhile read.
Still In Mind
There are a lot of moving parts and different plot lines in this edition of The Oregon Files. The Chairman is all over the place dealing with a potential world ending event as well as an event that could plunge the world into a world war. Don't try to read this in bed before sleep it will keep your mind zipping along.

This was in good book it had a lot of action too much going on at times but worth the read. I figure in a year or two I will read it again and still enjoy it. If you like Clive Cussler if you like the Oregon crew this is a book worth reading.
Wow this was a very long story with 2 plot twists and I kind of lost interest at second part 43rd chapter and went to last chapter and just finished it off .
I have read almost all of Clive’s books and never lost interest but this one was long and drawn OUT !
