Today, I am reviewing the book, The Christmas Porringer, by Evaleen Stein. This book is about a little girl named Karen, her grandmother, and a robber called Hans. This is a story of kindness and love. It will touch your heart as you discover how a robber helps a little girl and her grandmother overcome challenging times – while without even realizing it – heal his own broken heart. I appreciate a book with excellent descriptions of where the story occurs as well as detailed information regarding the characters. Evaleen Stein does a wonderful job with the description of both the character’s personality and where the story takes place. When I finished this book, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it, because I am usually a person who delights in a lot of action in the books I read; however, this particular book lacked the amount of action I usually crave. Nonetheless, I was able to overlook this flaw due to the author’s excellent storytelling and attention to detail. The Christmas Porringer, by Evaleen Stein, is a very pleasurable book to read, and I highly recommend it!

The Christmas Porringer by Evaleen Stein is a great book about a family that is not doing very well, and a robber whose story intersects with the story of the family. Hans, the robber changes as he is reminded of his past. I enjoyed seeing Hans change as the story progressed and how to book came to a happy ending. This steady going book is a must read for people of all ages. If you liked it as much as I did, please check out Gabriel and the Hour Book another book by Evaleen Stein.

A Christmas Porringer is a great classic! A little girl named Karen wonders why she gets a gift on Christ's birthday, and wants to give him one.
She buys a little porringer (a bowl) and puts it out for Christ to come and get it. But a robber named Robber Hans takes the porringer. You should read the book to find out what happens next! I think that this is an amazing book for all ages and a good bedtime story for Christmas time.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone because it is such a classic by Evaleen Stein, who is a great author.

I would recommend the Christmas porringer by Evaleen Stein to anyone who likes to read uplifting literature. It is a great book about a girl and her grandmother who are not well off. The little girl set out a porringer and Hans the robber, steals it. It reminds him of his sister and when he was younger. Hans has a change of heart. This is a tender loving story. I definitely recommend this book. Review by I 6th Grade

The Christmas porringer by Evaleen Stein, Its about a girl who wonders about the Christs child at Christmas time. She feels like he should receive a gift also. therefore she buys a porringer and sets it on the door step for the Christs child. Instead a man named Hans the robber steals it, he finds that it was his sister as a girl. (which is dead) This fills him with despair and try's to get rid of the porringer, but cant........ You have to read the book to find out the rest. It's a great book.
i just finished the Christmas Porringer by: Eveleen Stein for school. I recommend this book for everyone because it tells others to not steal and help others. I think the book is great! It (kind of) told me about Belgium history.
