Only 7 left in stock (more on the way). I have read all of the books written by Elizabeth Peters. My only complaint is that there isn't more.

The Jackal's Head book. It's definitely not Elizabeth Peters' best, but it's interesting because of being her first book and setting up a lot of the tropes she later uses so well in the Amelia Peabody series. and not in a boring, five pages of description kind of way. I usually skim over descriptions in other books, but in Peters' books I slow down and take them in. They're short and re This is really probably a . star book.

Elizabeth Peters earned her P. in Egyptology from the University of Chicago’s famed Oriental Institute. Very enjoyable read, especially if you like Amelia Peabody in her Egyptian adventures, this is in much the same style but different period, different characters. Well recommended

I have read all of the books written by Elizabeth Peters. My only complaint is that there isn't more. I have also read and enjoyed the Barbara Michaels books and Vicky Bliss series. My favorite is the Amelia Peaody series. I seriously suggest reading these books in the order of the dates they were on their annual dig, such as: The Golden One (1916 - 17) and then Children of the storm (1919 - 20). If you don't you will get the storyline mixed up. Not all of the publication dates match the sequence of years. The book The Last Camel Died at Noon needs to be read after Deeds of the Disturber (1896) [which is not available as an e book for kindle]. The book Guardian of the Horizon is during the (1907 - 08) dig and even though out of sequence should be read after Children of the Storm (1919 - 20). I always try to read an author's books in the order in which they were written. Some don't matter, but the Amelia Peabody series is a continuation of the storyline. Hope you enjoy her books as much as I did.

I'm a huge fan of the late Barbara Mertz, whether she wrote as Barbara Michaels or Elizabeth Peters. This book has many of the elements I love about her work, including witty banter between the main characters, and fascinating information about ancient Egypt and modern archeology. Unfortunately, the ending is a bit anticlimactic. The heroine's time trapped in a tomb is drawn out far too long for far too little payoff, as the ultimate confrontation with the villain happens off the page. If you're already a fan, enjoy. If you have yet to have the pleasure of reading this incredible author's works, you might be better off starting with another of her excellent novels.
