While I like Linda Lael Miller, this book was a HUGE disappointment. I wasn't able to like the main characters and the plot dragged on. After having finished it last week, this is about all I can remember from the story

While I like Linda Lael Miller, this book was a HUGE disappointment. After having finished it last week, this is about all I can remember from the story: The heroine, Rachel, is an annoying brat who always seems to be hitting people, and the hero, Griffin, is a doctor who beats people up and then fixes them. The other love interest, Jonas, alternates from being a monster to being a sweet guy. I much preferred the other supporting characters' story, Field and Fawn.

Fleeing the altar on her wedding day when she discovers that her husband-to-be is plotting to take a second lover, Melissa Corbin trades access to her family fortune for her hand in marriage in an unusual arrangement. Reissue.

I really liked this book it put a nice end to a lovely family. As I have stated before I feel there is just too much sex. I'm not a prude but it was such a nice coming of two people together. I enjorn her writing so much. You cannot help getting taken in by her writing. Thank you Linda Lael Miller. Keep them coming.

I liked this book but sometimes it was a little too much about other characters from the first books in this series and I didnt feel like I got a complete story for the main characters. If you take out about the past characters and skip the "who-done-it" shenanagans- there isnt enough juicy romance between the two. It was a good read, but it wasn't good enough to read again. This author has brought us better than this before and I will buy more by her again. But I still feel that this couple was a little jipped and their story could have been so much more interesting. I wont be buying any more "last of the series" books by her again--I will read it at the library where I can return it and it wont collect dust.

I did not like the constant untrusting negativity. The story was too frustratingly about non-trust with the relationship built on sexuality.

First off, I usually loved Linda Lael Miller's books & in fact own most of them if not all. But, this is not one I'm going to keep. Unlike her other books in this series this book makes me grind my teeth in frustration over such a vain, silly, unthinking heroine who goes off half-cocked at every turn. Spent most of book amazed that the hero kept coming back for more, ugh. The Stone Creek series, the Orphan Train trilogy, The Outlaw, The Man From Stone Creek - all these books had depth and plots that were rich and warm. I tried to give it 3 stars but just couldn't. She is so much better than this.

Since I have read seven or eight books since this one, I really can't answer the above questions. I CAN tell you however that I enjoyed this entire series. Fell in love with Melissa and all three of her brothers. I've enjoyed almost every Miller book I've read........and there have been many!

This is a great addition to the series. Melissa is sheltered but refuses to be spoiled! After being betrayed on the day of her wedding, Melissa Corbin flees the church and jumps into a retreating railroad car. Little does she know that she is changing the course of her life. She is determined to become her own woman, without relying on her family's money. Quinn Rafferty also wants to be free of his upbringing, so the chance to pair his name with the Corbin reputation is too hard to pass up. As these two find out what is important, they find that the other is what is missing from theirs lives. Good read.
