This is a wonderful book full of quilting stories so interesting. And the ideas you can get about quilting is fabulous.

Not what I expected. Hot and heavy is not what I want in a story with the title the Quilting Circle.

The Quilting Circle is composed of 4 separate stories.

Pieces of Dreams by Jennifer Blake takes place in Good Hope, Missouri. The story begins in the year 1846, where a group of young women are working on a wedding quilt for their friend Melly who is soon to marry Caleb. When Caleb's twin brother, Conrad arrives in town the young bride becomes confused and wonders if she's marrying the right twin!

Forever Annie by JoAnne Cassity is the story of a young widow by the name of Annie O'Neil who runs a store in the town of Whiskey, Missouri. It's the year 1853. Annie attends an auction when a beautiful quilt is offered. She is outbid by Walker McGregor another store owner. She's furious because this has happened before where he had outbid her and Annie's is sure that he just wants to be mean. Of course, there's more to the story!

In Hand- Me- Down Hearts by Linda Shertzer, we're still in Whiskey, Missouri, the year is now 1893. Elise Barker is talking with her children about how generous Cora McGregor was to leave the widowed Elise and her two children a beautiful warm quilt, an 1810 bedstead and 2 Duncan Phyfe chairs. Elise had worked for Cora McGregor and the two women were close friends. One evening shortly after Cora had died, a man came to Elise Barker's door. He was rude and loud. His name was Ryder McGregor and he was Cora's younger brother. Ryder is unpleasant and feels that Elise took advantage of his sister. He seems to be a very cold and angry man. Elise suspects that some event in his life had made him very bitter.

The last story is a Ring for Remembrance by Christina Cordaire and takes place in 1996. Sara Blake is a young woman who happens to be a curator and is in the process of preparing for a quilt exhibit. She has many things on her mind which include Josh Conrad, a CEO for a software company. He has asked Sara to marry him and even though, she loves him, she's afraid of marriage and keeps putting him off. This is a busy day for her because she just received a beautiful donated quilt for her show. It will be the major piece in the exhibit. When she examines the lovely old quilt, a gold wedding ring falls out. She puts it in her pocket, and carries the quilt to the ladder. She can't wait to hang the quilt. She realizes once she's on the ladder than it's not secured. When she falls, she finds herself in a dream like world, and she's now in the year 1843.

This book was a gift from a quilting friend. All of the stories were enjoyable reading and I plan to check out what other books have been written by these authors.

This is a sweet set of stories, perfect for a rainy afternoon, a cold day with a cup of cocoa or an afternoon at the beach. I would like it more if all the women in the short stories were connected to each other. A nice read.

I'm not that into this kind of romance. The story lines were good though. I did keep wondering about the historical aspect of the stories.
