I purchased this book because of the price and because I love Susan Mallery. Even though this book was a reprint of her earlier work, it was still good to read. Story was fun, light and very romantic. I loved Kevin's character, so honorable, not perfect, but tried to be. Haley's character was a little bit hard to believe, since we are in the 2010's, but overall, story was cute. Kevin and Haley meet by chance at a bar in the middle of no where. She looked uncomfortable and at the first sign of trouble, Kevin was compelled to come to her rescue. Haley is the preacher's daughter and finally decides to run away and see the world. It is her road to self discovery and self fulfillment. On this road, she meets Kevin, who is a US Marshall and a good man. Kevin teaches her many things, and she shows her a more sensitive and brighter side of life. Fairly predictable ending, but still very romantic and sweet.

Second story by Tanya Michaels is the story of Piper and Josh who have been frieds for a while. Due to a family reunion, she needs to find a date fast and decides to ask her friend Josh to pretend to be her boyfriend. Josh has been thinking about Piper a lot lately, all the women he dates don't compare to her. Perhaps this three day weekend was what he needed to show her what they can have. Story was cute, humorous, fast and sweet.

I purchased this primarily for Susan Mallery's book, but this second story by Tanya Michaels was simply a delightful bonus. Excellent package for a very low price! Light reading, no drama!
Like most of Mallery's work, this was short and sweet, and very funny.

Heroine is a preacher's daughter and unbelievably sheltered. Unbelievable, because most of us know it's the pastor's kids that act out the most. But who cares? The scenes with her shock at casual swearing or her gasp at the WalMart because of animal print underwear cracked me up. Most of the book is just the two of them talking, so even though the entire relationship develops in just a week, you actually feel that the couple know each other better than in most Categories.

The addition of the hero's back story at the end had nothing to do with the rest of the book, and there was no obvious emotional impact on him, either. It was odd. I suspect it's just a lead in for more stories by the named (but not met) characters, the author or publisher trying to link a number of stand alone books into a series. It doesn't matter, as I will eventually buy all of Mallery's back list anyway.

I had a good time. So will you.
A very compelling story of a young women getting in touch with her true feelings and learning her true strengths I like all of the books Susan writes but this one I could not put down.
In a round-about way, this is a part of the Haynes family series (it would be 8th). Although Kevin is not a Haynes in name, he finds - near the end - that he is one by blood. The Haynes connection is actually secondary to his relationship with sweet Haley, but I like the way it blends in with the other books (and sets up a couple of additional ones). I have thoroughly enjoyed the others in this series, but I must admit that this is one of my favorites. I totally enjoyed it. Susan Mallery is one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint.
I seriously cannot rave enough about SUSAN MALLERY'S books.
The first one is as good as the second, third, fourth as many as she has written ....LOL :)
Any of her book's or series is just as interesting as the first one you begin reading .
Awesome, excellent reading... I would recommend any and all SUSAN MALLERY'S Books.
Once you read just one of her books :) you just wont want to ever stop ,
I loved the book, the girl found her real love, her and the Marshall fell in love at the end, she figure out what she wanted. Happy ending. Great book to read. I love her books. She's a wonderful author.
I LOVED the beginning of this book! The tough lawman protecting the naive girl in the bar was just a classic scene. The rest of the book lost a little steam after that, but still a great Mallery book.
