Korean Combat (Yeoman). Book in the George Yeoman Series).

Korean Combat (Yeoman). Two months prior, the vast and brutal armies of Red China had demonstrated their North Korean alliance when they stormed the United Nations divisions in Manchuria.

I've been reading the previous titles in the series from Robert Jackson and am finding them to be well written generally but with a hastily written ending that spoils it all somewhat

I've been reading the previous titles in the series from Robert Jackson and am finding them to be well written generally but with a hastily written ending that spoils it all somewhat. This book in the series is no exception.

First published in 1983 by Arthur Baker Limited.

The battle that followed was on a smaller scale than the one which preceded it, but the pilots, many of them already suffering from nervous exhaustion, soon realised that it was an air operation of intense ferocity. This is their forgotten story, a story of comradeship, of victory and of loss and of a new, terrifying type of military warfare. Korean Combat is the thrilling ninth book in the immensely popular Yeoman series.

The Yeoman saga continues as he is assigned to support the Australian air effort in Korea. Engaging characters and a fact-based plot line propel this story of the War in the air in the early 1950s, written by someone who knows his subject. A worthy entry in the Yeoman series.

Not bad, for those who remember Korea. I was a high school kid wanted in to fight for glory. It ended before I could join up.
