Crown and Laurel are synonymous, and they have mutual synonyms. The crown is of a laurel wreath design, but between the leaves are tiny daggers alternately pointing up and down; the intention in the design is that the wearer can never wear it comfortably, reminding him of the obligation and danger it represents. Laurel Wreaths are associated with the Roman Caesars and despite being simpler than a typical crown (essentially a partial circlet) because of Roman hatred for traditional monarchy, they tend to indicate someone who is at the top, in terms of importance.
Sharpe's Waterloo is a historical novel in the Richard Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell.
Laurel Creek Conservation Area offers a small swimming area and lots of nature trails. Have parked at Laurel Creek several times in the past and enjoyed every one of them. Sites are large and while it would be nice to have full services water and electricity are the most important. Dragonboat races take place annually. Date of experience: April 2016. The area is well maintained and staff are friendly and visible.
