Seems quickly done, or done without many drafts or editing. Liked some of his other works but definitely not this one.

An interesting story, but short. I didn't quite connect to the main character, his demeanour ranged from pathetic to naive and self-serving. I generally liked the book. Great for when you want something short to read over a weekend, or for a break in between heavier reading.
Carrot
Great story. I enjoyed this little vampire tale. Highly recommended.

I've got to tell you, when read this book when it first came out, I was 13-years-old. Since then, I must have read it another three or four times.

Like Byers says in his comments, this book shows vampirism for exactly what it is. Instead of the aristocratic counts with the Romanian accents these vampires are truly walking corpses that exist by extracting the blood of the living. A truly great read!

I just did not enjoy. I really tried, but it never engaged me into the story.
