Pound is without doubt an artist more revered by reputation than by being read. Curious, quirky, and sibylline, he presents the presents the first time contemporary reader with a host of head scratching questions which this collection of essays attempts to answer. And it does. The index for further reading is itself priceless. This collection will initiate the reader to many of the questions which perplex those attempting to appreciate Pound and help guide him through the poetic world Pound created. Let it suffice to say that in this collection many of the poetic problems and some of the personal problems that surround Mr. Pound are if not answered, are certainly presented in a concise and clear manner. Much better reading than taking "Pound 101" in college.
