A Boy's Will is a poetry collection by Robert Frost. It is Frost's first commercially published book of poems. Frost admitted that much of the book was autobiographical.

A Boy's Will is a poetry collection by Robert Frost. As the proof sheets were printed in January 1913, he wrote the poems were "pretty near being the story of five years" of his life. Specifically, Frost noted that the first poem of the book, "Into My Own", expressed how he turned away from people and "Tuft of Flowers" showed how he "came back to them".

Robert Lee Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. His work was initially published in England before it was published in America. His first book of poetry, A Boy's Will, was published the next year. Known for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech, Frost frequently wrote about settings from rural life in New England in the early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and philosophical themes. Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime and is the only poet to receive four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry.

Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, but his family moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts, in 1884 following his father’s death. The move was actually a return, for Frost’s ancestors were originally New Englanders, and Frost became famous for his poetry’s engagement with New England locales, identities, and themes. Continuing to write about New England, he had two books published, A Boy’s Will (1913) and North of Boston (1914), which established his reputation so that his return to the United States in 1915 was as a celebrated literary figure.

As poets go, Frost (1874-1963) was no longer young when he published his first book of poems, A Boy’s Will, in 1913. However, he had been brought up on a farm and he liked farming. Most of all, he liked to write but he could not support himself by writing.

Robert Lee Frost was born in San Francisco in 1874. It combines the collections of A Boys Will, and North of Boston

Robert Lee Frost was born in San Francisco in 1874. When he was ten, his father died and he and his mother moved to New England. He attended school at Dartmouth and Harvard, worked in a mill, taught, and took up farming before he moved to England, where his first books of poetry, A Boy’s Will (1913) and North of Boston (1914), were published. It combines the collections of A Boys Will, and North of Boston. Many of the poems were about nature, and love. I selected the book because I had read Robert Frost before and I liked his style, and I felt I could relate to some of the poems. Most of them had no riming scheme, and were written in sentences, or stanzas.

It was described by the great poet W. B Yeats as 'the best poetry written in America in a long time.

A Boy’s Will' is the poetry collection that put the world on notice that Robert Frost was going to be an important Poet. His early poems were already exploring the themes and subject matter that would make him America’s best known poet. A roller coaster ride for main character - he falls in love, she does not return his love , runs off with another man, and after not seeing him for a few years - she begs to stay with him. Dramatic, sad and turmoil of emotions. I watched TCM awhile ago, and apparently Bette Davis played the in and out user of main character. Loved this book.

This is a reproduction of an original work. I find it a little difficult on the kindle. No index to click right to a certain poem. I changed the formatting around and still didn't seem to find the right one. I looked at other reviews and they seemed to have same problems. So I knew what I was getting and willing to work around that for the free cost.

Early Robert Frost, including some of the best known poems? For free? What could possibly be wrong with that?

Perhaps not the best formatting job in the known universe, but the poems are there in handy electronic form.

Yes, the book was inexpensive on Kindle, but I had hoped to listen to the automaton read his words. Forget it. Just a garble of lines and poems run together.

Some books actually sound okay on the auto reader. Not this one.

Buy a good compilation of Frost hardcover, or look up individual poems on the internet, but this is the wrong format.

This book was formatted properly, all the poems were lined up correctly. This book was as I expected, a collection of poems.

Well done!
I never tire of reading Frost's poetry. Love to see how he manipulates the English language to get full use of nuances.
