Entering one's No. Mountainous obstacles Seem not of our creation, Yet rock hard impasses appear Where clear path seemed obvious, Now impassible. The best laid plans Swirl amidst the winds of challenge, Icing our tenacity, Whiting-out our vision, Deafening our ears to resolve. Made to stop, We seek refuge. Cower we must, Time's weather independent Unaware love's thermal core Knows but limited defense. Suffering assumes the time. We fearfully give it, Granting indecision Until we satiate.

In August 2013 a dark cloud appears over the skies of Las Vegas. Thought at first to be just another weather incident, the cloud ultimately becomes a concern for both science and religion, as over the course of several months, it only moves a few miles at a time, always returning to a similar position over the city. The ten award winning stories from members of TheNextBigWriter.com explore how the cloud challenges religion, science, culture, and human behavior.

What a great idea for a short story collection. So many different perspectives of how life is altered by THE CLOUD. And a great opportunity for those writer's whose stories were chosen. I especially liked DREAMS by Zephyrus White - quite a clever use of dreams - the subconscious speaks. I like also that 50% of the profits will go towards purchasing computers for kids in third world countries.

Interesting to read the crafting of stories written be different authors. I was disappointed that the cloud was painted in more as an afterthought or simply described in the setting rather instead of a trigger within the stories.
