by Shirley Rousseau Murphy .

by Shirley Rousseau Murphy. Winner of 11 Muse Medallion awards from the Cat Writers Association. Great sleuthing with a feline touch. What makes this series so delightful for both cat lovers and readers of offbeat fantasies is that Murphy's convincing anthropomorphism allows the cats to maintain their feline natures while still adopting human speech and cognition.

Only 14 left in stock (more on the way). The family that Shirley Rousseau Murphy has created with Joe, Dulcie, and Kit and their people: Clyde and Ryan, Wilma, Charlie and Max, and Lucinda and Pedric just keeps getting stronger. Each novel picks up the threads left at the end of the previous book and weaves a new tapestry of myriad images that are so colorful and rich that Dulcie would be rolling in delight on them.

The latest installment of the Joe Grey mysteries is very hard to lay down. Once again the cats save the day but it's the manner in which they do it that sucks a reader down until one comes up for air several hours later. That time is not begrudged since the world of Molina Point invites one to stay. My only regret with this novel is that I finished it so soon and will have to wait a year for the next novel. Bravo Shirley and bravo Joe, Dulcie, and Kit for once again making the village safe for those who are innocent of heart and making me smile with complete satisfaction.

It's Christmas time at Molina Point, but all is not well. There have been a series of home invasions during which single women are assaulted, and the police cannot seem to stop them. Into this situation comes Maudie Toolie and her young grandson Benny who have been through terrors of their own. Benny and Maudi were passengers in a car during which Maudie's son (Bennie's father) was murdered by a passing motorist. The killer has not been caught and although Maudie has seemingly recovered, there is something odd about her that is immediately perceived by Joe Gray, Dulcie and Kit. The three team up as always, joined by a mysterious elderly tom named Misto who shares their unusual abilities. This is a another delightful book by Shirley Rousseau Murphy and is one that lovers of the Joe Grey series will adore.

Apparently there are 17books (so far) in this series. This book was free so that's why I got it...I will go back and start at the beginning and read thru to current #17. HOWEVER, I almost trashed this book because the first chapter was poorly enter in kindle. Poor typing, sentences started in the middle or ending in the middle. Paragraphs starting in the middle, or ending with open sentence. And paragraphs repeating and out of order. POOR JOB . Again almost trashed the book but the second chapter and the rest were enter correctly except for a few misspelled words. As for the story...GREAt or should I say MEEEEOW ? Wonderful characters, cat, dog and human, and good story line. As I said, I will be buying the whole series. I hope the rest are better prepared in Kindle.

A,series of home invasions are occurring in Molena Point. There no clues,as to who is doing it. Two to four men break into a home where there is lone woman and beat her up and destroy the house. Someone is trying to hurt the MPPD and Max Harper. Joe and Dulcie are watching Ryan add a quilting room for a newcomer, Maudie and Grandson Bennie who recovering from a drive by shooting near Los Angeles.
The cat realize there is strangle Tom Cat around but Joe and Dulcie are not interested as long as he is not bothering them. Kit see a performance cat in a distance and hopes it is mate. She is disappointed when she finally see him. He is old tells her he is returning to where was kitten. Misto helps them gather the information to stop the home invasions. All this plots are brought together skillfully for another outstanding story.

Cat Coming Home: A Joe Grey Mystery, has been placed on my favorite list of Joe Grey mysteries. And I've read them all!

The California seaside town of Molena Point and its residents are threatened by savage attacks and home burglaries very close to the Christmas holidays. Joe, sweet Dulcie and the feral Kit are introduced to wise Misto, returning to MP after a long sojourn. Misto helps the other three talking cats solve these mysteries and provides an important link in the author's special weave of delightful murder mysteries. The cats assist MP police chief, Max Harper, while Max's wife, Charlie, adds charm and class to these stories. A considerable force in the community, she stands by her husband though she must keep secret her knowledge of these cats' special qualities.

Other new characters include Maudie Toola, who presents in Molena Point with her grandson, Benny, who was orphaned by the murder of his father -Maudie's son- and his mother. These new personalities, added to the list of old friends whose repeat performances in Rousseau-Murphy's wonderful cat detective mysteries, make this book a fantastic read. Reading her books is like coming home for me, and I look forward to savoring each and every one. Other favorites in my library are keepers, some paperback, some Kindle editions. Cat To The Dogs: A Joe Grey MysteryCat on the Edge: A Joe Grey MysteryCat Telling Tales #Joe Grey Mysteries#

Love the Joe Grey Mysteries. Have not found a book in the series that I would not give 5 stars to. Have all the books up to this printing which I purchased on Kindle. Even though cats do not really talk I love to read about Joe, Dulcie & kit and there is always a story in each book with the same characters an always in fictional Molena Point. Almost makes me feel like they are real people and they are like friends. The books are like a continuing saga with the cats solving a new mystery in each book.

Maybe I was slightly disappointed in this because I had so been looking forward to reading it. Murphy is one of my favorite authors and it just didn't seem to have the sparkle it usually does.
I like the interaction between the cats and their attempts to contact the humans. I also enjoy when the differences between the cats are emphasized; ie Joe's attitude towards his food (that was good in this book) Dulcie's love of "feminine" things and Kit's impetuousness. I always like how the police department notices the cats' involvement but never quite figures it out.
