However, ‘congratulate’ can take ‘for’ too. Here is the difference: If you congratulate someone ON something, you essentially say this: I am happy for you because something pleasant has happened to you. If you congratualate someone FOR something, you essentially say this: I appreciate your good work. Moreover, we congratulate people ON specific situations.

There’s one word you can always count on as you begin singing your praises. You probably guessed it: Congratulations! By congratulating your recipient from the very start, your note will already be on target with what you want to say. 2 Be personal. Everyone loves a hand-written compliment!

I was diagnosed with cancer almost 7 years ago. As an information buff, my first step was to organize friends and family to go to the library and book stores. I ended up with over 50 books, countless websites and numerous journal articles. I was shocked at the number of sources I had to use to get a complete picture of the journey of healing I was about to embark upon. At last, there is now a book that provides an honest, compassionate and complete picture of this journey. Sure, it is a book that can help anyone with cancer, but just as importantly it is a book for those who "love themselves enough" to want to avoid any type of chronic disease. I found this book rich with content yet very easy to read. I did not appreciate my health until I almost lost my life. The author has the unique ability of making this point without making the reader feel guilty or tearing down the institutions that influence our health.

Dr. Surina Ann Jordan's book Got Cancer? Congratulations! Now You Can Start Living is a comprehensive way in which to look at cancer from a holistic perspective. Without causing alarm,Got Cancer outlines how cancer affects the whole body and also the ways in which we can take not only preventative measures, but also heal some of the damage done to our bodies. This book truly serves as an interactive, non-invasive platform for conversation, that doesn't criticize, but suggests the best way to wellness for mind, body, and spirit. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone suffering cancer, or just simply wants to live well. I even gave the book to my aunt, who is fighting breast cancer.

This book is like having a conversation with a good friend. It is exactly what a person needs who has been diagnosed with cancer. It helped me deal with the shock. It helped me settle down so that I could get in the driver's seat and make the important decisions that only I can make. I discovered the importance of caring for myself. This book gently helped me look at how I had been living and how I can start really living from now on.

The reference section is good. It is an easy read. I read it all without stopping. I plan to reread it several more times and I will get a copy for several people who are struggling with cancer.

By the way I am not related to the author, but I wish we were!
