What an awesome artist and each of his drawings have a story behind them. I own several of his drawings and it is nice to have the stories that go with them. He is a gentle caring person, both talented in drawing and guitar playing. Keeping old time mountain living and the music alive too.

I first saw Willard Gayheart's work at the Floyd Country Store in Floyd, VA and fell in love with it. I wanted to know more about this fascinating artist, and this little paperback book supplies the answers. Since I have about five Gayheart Limited Edition prints, I keep this book handy to share with guests. Gayheart is still living and plays Bluegrass music around Southwestern VA, so some of my friends even know him and enjoy paging through this book.

I met mr Gayhart at the music center on the Apalacian trail and purchased two of his prints and a CD of he and Bobby Peterson singing and playing. I fell in love with both. One of my prints is of both men sitting on the breeze way. I saw the book in the gift shop, didn't buy it there but couldn't get it off my mind so ordered it from amazon.

Absolutely LOVED this book.Having always lived in central Virginia many of the people mentioned were people whose music I was familiar with. The artwork was amazing. It was SO good that I had to have the second book of Gayheart's drawings.
Good story with great art; was expecting more on his music history
