One of the most gruesome crimes of the Second World War is one of the Allied air war against the German civilian population. Defenseless women and children were the main victims of a criminal British-American strategy of crushing the will of the German people untill it was broken. In addition to the loss of human life was the destruction of irreplaceable cultural heritage. An endless stream of western bombers dropped their bomb loads on German cities while desperately firing flak and interceptors tried to stop the destruction; with firefighters on the ground struggled tirelessly against the fire, leaving only the ruins of flowering German cities and industrial plants. All this is shown in over 160 mostly previously unpublished full color photos. The author, an accomplished connoisseur of the air war, does away with reeducation legends like Coventry, Warsaw and Rotterdam, as the real criminals of the air war are exposed as a singularly Allied War Crime.
