I purchased this book for my dad who does not read for pleasure and who owns lots of acres in the hill country. I'm organic and he's all about cutting trees and using poisons. I know he's reading this book because I can see the pages he's marked. A total win in my book!

If your thinking about ranching in the Texas Hill country you need to read this book. It will help you buy your ranch or help you fix the soil on the ranch you have. It doesn't matter how much land you have or want, it has to be productive and this book will help you get there.

This hit the perfect balance of overview and detail. I enjoyed the subjects that I know I'll never deal with. The detail that may apply to me had enough meat (no pun intended) to be very useful. After I finished, I bought a copy for a cousin.

It is a very informative book, especially for those of us new to owning land in the Hill Country.

Easy reading. Has very good information. I liked the historical information as well as the information on thinking how to best to utilize your ranch. Too many properties in my area are way over populated with exotics or other animals and the land is basically barren.

I've got a ranch out in the Texas Hill Country, and I found much of the information in here useful.
