So far, the information looks fair, but the presentation is poor at best. The book is much smaller/thinner than anticipated. While the cover looks fine, once you open the book, it looks self published. The paper is not great quality and the graphics are terrible/newspaper quality. I could print nicer graphics on my home printer and I'd certainly use higher quality paper. I am disappointed that it isn't worth the $26 I spent on it. I suspect that most of the information can be gotten online.

We adopted a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix from a local animal shelter and quickly realized his personality was very different from the other dogs we've had. I grew up with labs, Akitas, huskies, Irish setters, Afghan hounds..to name a few. None of them prepared me for the Einstein athlete I have now (or maybe, he has me!) this book was a great help with training and just generally helped us understand what works with him, and what doesn't. I highly recommend this book to anyone living with a Ridgeback for the first time. They are not like other dogs!

Great book for Rhodesian lovers and anyone who wants to learn about dog behavior. It covers the history of the breed, personality, and other characteristics that I discovered were not unique to my dog.

If you have owned a Ridgeback before then skip this one. The author won't tell you anything you don't already know except that the colour prejudice has shifted from too much white to too much black. There are some cute anecdotes in it but that's about it. It would probably work out well for someone with no Rhodie experience.

Another great book for the potential Ridgeback owner. Thanks so much for helping us prepare for our puppy.

This is the perfect book for new owners of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. It not only explains techniques for properly training your favorite pet, it also explains why these techniques work based upon the character of the Ridgeback.

Had a litter of Ridgies. Learned a lot about what to expect of their behavior.
I haven't read the whole book, but what I have read is amazing. It is just what I wanted. It has the history of the breed, personality of Rhodesian Ridgebacks (RRs), how to take care of RRs, basic first aid, training, etc. The book is an overview (about 150 pages), so you get a lot of info but it doesn't take forever to read. I have had my first RR for a year now and when reading the book it describes my dog exactly; from her intelligence to her humor. If you are seriously looking into this breed, I would strongly recommend you read this book first before making a final decision. RRs are not for everyone, but if you can handle them they are great companions and I don't know what I would do without my RR.
