Great freebie for a social skills lesson. This self respect lesson would be great for teenagers or adolescents who's body may have changed due to their illness/ injury. I think this could be helpful for the OCD,anxiety and depression thoughts. Instead - thought bubble vs talk bubble. I came across this and found it to be a helpful, simplistic visual tool to use with elementary students as they learn how to solve problems. It can help them focus on other positive aspects of themselves that aren't body-image related.

Practise any new social skills with your child in a number of different places, and with different people. Autistic children can find it hard to generalise new skills in different contexts. Ask school staff, or others involved with your child, what particular social difficulties they have observed. Pick the time carefully when introducing new social skills. Avoid stressful times, or times when your child is distracted by a favourite activity

Perfect for Aspergers children who need help with Life Skills and Social Skills. The books gives great ideas for lessons and activities, along with a daily worksheet. While the book is really for groups, I have still found it perfectly useful for an only child. I just adapt the exercises. The work is highly manageable for middle school students and they end up working through the worksheet with confidence. I highly recommend this book to anyone teaching this type of course.
