ISBN 0439803519 - Printed in the U.S.A. Age range not stated, but "Student Edition" is a clue. Staple-bound paperback. 55 pages. Compiled by Ryan Herndon, designed by Rocco Melillo. Published by Scholastic, Inc. in 2005.

World records set by groups of students are detailed. Included with each record are the name of the school, the place it's located, the date of the record, and how (and sometimes why) they did it. Some records include information about other, related, records or details of the record that was broken.

This is a fun, quick read, with just one page given to most records and a big chunk of many pages taken up by a black and white photo. Kids may just read it and get some ideas about setting their own records and, if they do, good for them! The greatest negative is the lack of color photos. In some cases, the photo chosen isn't the one that should have been chosen, leaving me a bit disappointed. For example, the Largest Handprint Painting record shows some children covering their hands in paint, when what I'd have liked to have seen was their finished product. It's not a big problem, it's just that the pictures are sometimes not as interesting as they could have been. On the up side, kids will enjoy reading about some of the amazing things that kids can do!

Great book! I am on the cover. I’m the one with bleach blond hair. I won the sack race by the way. I didn't actually get paid for this photo but it was on the front page of my small town newspaper and then on the cover of this book years later.

I was homeschooled so I never got a copy.
