by Joseph A. Pika (Author), John Anthony Maltese (Author), Andrew Rudalevige (Author). I use The Politics of the Presidency in my undergraduate presidency courses because the essential topics are thoroughly covered in a style that is both readable and interesting. The cases and examples are always well chosen and up-to-date, and the special circumstances and challenges facing the current president can be easily compared to enduring presidential responsibilities such as domestic politics, economic policy, and national security. Pika, John Anthony Maltese, Andrew C Rudalevige. good book to learn a/b the presidency. com User, August 8, 2009. I bought this book for class. Get the most up-to-date coverage and analysis of the presidency with this comprehensive text. The Politics of the Presidency maintains a balance between historical context and contemporary scholarship on the executive branch, providing a solid foundation for any presidency course. It turned out to be really informative a/b the passed presidents. May probably be moot now that we have a new president, but it's nice to know what the previous presidents did. 0.

I was a political science major in college, oh so long ago. I only wish this book had been available to me then.

It describes just about everything a person would like to know about our past presidents and our government. It goes right up to the presidency of Obama, and is must reading for anyone who plans to vote this year.

This book has so much information about the presidency that it. Becomes too much to take in. Very well written for an academic piece because while it has so much in it, it is still accessible to the common reader. Great resource for my class but not something I would have read on a whim. Give it to someone who really enjoys studying the presidency.
