I've learned so much from this book. I've read a number of parenting books and n the past, and consider myself to be well educated in the realm of interpersonal communication. However the ideas presented in this book were new to me and offered immediate application to my parenting. If you're willing to do the work, look inside at your old patterns, and change your behavior, The ideas in this book can transform your relationship with your children. I'm very grateful for having learn the principles presented by the Paris's.

I'm a parenting facilitator and I think this book is an absolute must for all parents. In fact they should be made to read it before they even decide to have kids.
The writers obviously have a deep understanding of themselves and their relationships.
It really explains how we interfere with the process of our children's natural intelligence with our unresolved childhood pain.
It's not particularly theoretical and deals with self-evident facts and feelings in any given situation.

This book is a very practical guide to postive parenting. The Paris' developed the Parenting Process which has helped families all over the world change they way they were parented into a very positve way of parenting their own children. Many parents complain that they weren't given a guide book to parenting, but this is it! It has helped me so very much. It doesn't matter how one was raised, skills can be learned and the rewards are tremendous.
