A good book for beginners an amateurs. A good book for tips on woodworking aids that you may not of thought of. This book does not tell you how to use your tools or jigs, but, tells you how to make your own jigs instead of buying them. Which is a money saver. No pictures, but good illustrations.
I became aware of this book through an essay of Christopher Schwarz's in which he mentioned that rather than going into detail about what jigs the woodworker might find useful he would just recommend this book. It's been out of print for some years, but a great many used copies are available at very reasonable prices- I paid 99 cents for mine. It's absolutely chock full of great ideas for supporting, clamping ("cramping," in British lingo), cutting, fitting and otherwise working wood, and it has found a permanent place on the self above my workbench.
Excellent reference full of great ideas
This is the third copy of this book I have purchased. The other two I have given to friends. That in itself should tell you how high I hold Robert Wearing and his books regarding value to woodworkers.

The book itself crosses both hand and power tools in its scope. Highly recommend this book!
Nice addition to any woodworking library. One can never have too many books in their woodworking library and this one makes a nice addition.
This book is filled with the normal type of shop jigs and tips. There is little in the way of how to use them once you've made them. The jigs are practical and useful by the average woodworker. It is better than average in content, but not particularly readable. I'm glad I have it - there are several pieces of paper waving from the top of the book. It's worth the 3 cents (plus shipping) it's going for used on Amazon.
prompt delivery, very valuable information, loved it.
