I should preface this review by say that I am an AVID follower of the blog of the creators of this book, Wooster Collective, so it goes without saying that when they put their knowledge of the Urban Art world into written (and graphic) form, I was ecstatic. All in all, this is a beautiful and complete collection of many of the leading players in the alternative art world, from magazines and websites, to artists and galleries. The one thing that disappointed me slightly (just slightly), was the seemingly half-hazard effort of the print layout. From the text on the edge binding being upside down so it doesn't read correctly when laid flat while being shown off on the coffee table, to many of the articles text running sloppily over their adjacent graphics, I was surprised to see the number of over-sites within. However, if I were asked if I would buy this book again... and again. Yes. Without a doubt, this is still the most relevant collection of it's kind that I've found to date, and am proud to own it, and even to show it off on my coffee table... with upside down text and all. I'd just as that when the sequel is produced years down the line, that it be edited a little more thoroughly. I mean, come on guys, consider your audience.

This is a terrific book that encompasses several different artists, gallerists, and auction houses associated with street and urban art. The interviews are masterfully done, and in a way that brings the artists personalities to light. There are numerous stories told, and the photos highlight the artwork and strength of several important artists included in this book.

This is a fantastic book that covers off the 100 leading artists, collectives and galleries in street art today. Obviously the list will change over time but subsequent printings will only elaborate on the evolution of this art form. I highly recommend it.
