He is considered as the main specialist in the life and works of George Orwell. Then, he pursued his studies at the University of Sydney which provided him with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1963. The last year of the twenties century, Davison obtained a Doctor of Letters degree from De Montfort University as well as an honorary Doctor of Arts.
