On 21 April 2006 a round-table seminar took place at the premises of Vitterhetsakademien in Stockholm. The occasion was Fornvännens centenary, and the theme was the current status and future prospects of this kind of scholarly journal. This volume is a collection of nine papers by participants in the seminar. The main themes are the shift from paper to on-line publication, how to solve funding problems and the best way to ensure continued high acaemic standards.

Among writings and letters on English seafaring from the 16th and 17th century, it contains a journal of Sir Francis Drake's last voyage, covering the period from August 28, 1595 to May 20, 1596.
On page 13v from January 28 is a note about the death of Sir Francis Drake.
Early contributors included noted archaeologists Oscar Montelius and Hans Hildebrand.

Tense can be used to mark past and present and refer to future time. Aspect is another characteristic of verbs which adds time meanings to those expressed by tense. Examples of verbs in the past tense include the English verbs sang, went and was. In English, the past tense (or preterite) is one of the inflected forms of a verb.
