LOVER Jessica's Aunt Lucy left her three . That couldn't be helped. But the solicitor was hardly going to present a problem in her day-to-day life.

LOVER Jessica's Aunt Lucy left her three things: her fortune, the key to Jessica's origins and Sebastian Slade. To inherit, Jessica had to live in Lucy's house on Norfolk Island for a month with Sebastian, described in her will as her. 'loyal and loving companion. Jessica had not known of her Aunt Lucy's existence, either, till the woman herself had shown up at the Sydney Grand a couple of months back and asked to speak to the hotel's public relations manager, who was none other than Jessica herself. It had been an awkward meeting.

When, Jessica wondered, was she ever going to learn that men lied when it came to sex and money? Why, she'd almost fallen for Sebastian Slade's smooth story that he'd wanted nothing more than friendship from her aunt Lucy, before the lonely, wealthy, middle-aged widow had died. Perhaps Sebastian was planning to make love to Jessica, now that she was set to inherit Aunt Lucy's fortune? Jessica was determined to ignore her treacherous longings. Maybe the disturbing attraction she felt toward him would wear off, once she got used to his incredible charm and look. .

I let the good reviews sway me into buying this book, although Miranda Lee is not one of my favorite HP writers. So I felt compelled to write this review after reading the book to warn off others. This is a poorly written story with an unbelievable plot line and akward, melodramatic dialogue. Neither the heroine nor the hero are likeable, believable characters and the jump they make from hate to love is ridiculous. This book does not engage the reader on an emotional or intellectual level. Frankly, there is nothing at all engaging about it even if you're only expecting a fast, light read.

I really liked this book. The hero was very sexy and the descriptions of him were great. There seemed to be alot of deception/misunderstanding between the characters and though they didn't trust each other they kept forgiving each other. That seemed rather odd. Still it moved along nicely and the hero was one you'd want to spend a weekend with at a B&B!

I have to say I usually like ML but what the heck is with the book cover... are we slipping back to the 80's people..? reminds me of Fabio.. so dated. Anyway, this will be a miss for me.. the cover is one of the worst I have seen lately...
