This book is the required text for my college statistics course. I rented a used version from a third-party rental service that came Prime eligible through Amazon. It shipped quickly, arrived in good condition, and was what I needed. This is the 10th edition, and it doesn't come with any CDs, access codes, or workbooks. Sometimes getting used textbooks can be problematic because someone else has used the CDs, access codes, or workbooks, but that wasn't an issue with this one. It had a few pull-out pages in the front with helpful formulas, and even those were still attached.

The book itself is easy to read and understand. It has bolded, boxed vocabulary terms that make key terms very clear. It has Examples that illustrate each new concept or formulas. Sometimes examples have comments that talk about other approaches to the problem or other permutations of the problem. It also has Guided Examples that are basically problems that are worked out step-by-step for you. They're written in a two-column format designed for you to cover the answers on the right, work the problem presented on the left, and then check yourself. It also has Section Problems at the end of every section; the answers to the odd ones are in the back of the book.

Overall, a great book.

This "hybrid" textbook does not include the questions at the end of each section! Instead, the questions are only available through a website called Aplia. To get access to the questions, you need two codes: an access code and a course key code. Only the access code is included with the book. The course key code needs to come from your professor. If your professor does not have the code, this book is completely useless because Aplia will not give you a course code. If you do have a course code, it is only good for one to two semesters. After that, you will no longer have access to the questions.

Since my instructor did not have the course key, this book was a complete waste of my time and money. I have to get a refund for this book, and do not know if I will get a refund for any of my shipping charges (to and from my home). I wasted time arguing with their technical support, which at the end could not come up with any solution except to tell me to get a refund. Now I have to go to the post office to send this book back for a refund, as well as wait for a new copy of the book to arrive. And of course, my homework is now late!

I highly recommend that you do NOT get this textbook! The restrictions make it difficult, if not impossible, to sell the textbook when you are done with it. The restrictions also make the textbook less useful as a reference text, since you will not have access to the questions after two semesters. If you must get this textbook for your course, consider getting the hard cover version. If you want to save money, do not get this hybrid version; instead get the International Student Edition of this text.

An excellent book to use for Statistics and was very useful. However, this book came to me with half of the pages falling out of the spine and I had to reorganize the pages and slide them back to their rightful place. The pages are clean and are not written nor highlighted on. But unfortunately, the pages are coming off the spine. Book was shipped to me on time and the service was great.

I used this book for an online course at UC Berkeley and I found it to be excellent. The instructor I had never used any online questions, but he did assign questions at the end of each chapter. The chapter questions are answered for "odd questions" (back of the book) and the "even questions" are not answered in the book. The instructor assigned the "even questions", which were almost exactly like the odd questions. (Hint, if you cannot figure out the even question, do a odd question nearby, its usually the same question with different numbers)
As far as the book itself, it explains statistics in an easy way, and definitely a good book to learn for remote learning. I think the low rating for this book is for the lack of course key, but the book itself is good.

Great product and fast delivery. I'm taking statistics this semester (spring 2016) and this was the required material. It came with an access code and the book was new. This was definitely the most affordable price I could find for a bundle that came with the access code. Teacher gave me the code I needed for the class and I was able to access the online material. I definitely recommend the vendor, I was very happy with my order and they were very reliable.

Honestly, I didn't find it "understandable" at all. The examples were vague and the problems weren't closely associated with the materials in the chapters. For the price, I would have expected a better written textbook.
