Book 2 of 4 in the An Underwater Investigation Series. As a former SCUBA diver I enjoy Kathy Brandt's Hannah Sampson Mysteries. They are fun, light reads with interesting underwater descriptions and adventure.

Under Pressure - Kathy Brandt. Chief Dunn, my boss and head of Tortola PD, figured Jimmy was the ideal candidate to become my dive partner in underwater recovery and crime scene investigation. Jimmy was a quick study but fearless, the latter a liability as far as I was concerned. I wanted someone next to me at a hundred feet down who had as much respect for the ocean as I did.

Series: An Underwater Investigation. Kathy Brandt is a published author who taught writing at the University of Colorado for ten years. Fast paced, this book, the fourth In the series, had me reading when I should have been working, or making meals. Hannah Sampson is a believable character who is a detective with the Tortuga Police Department. Realistic island verbiage keeps one immersed in this story while Hannah is immersed in a mystery with many twists. Her personal life with O'Brien gets complicated when he suggests she quit her job and begin a family with him. This book was so interesting, I bought the other three in the series

I love this series! Kathy Brandt is an amazing author and brings a lot of depth and realism to all of her charaters.

I gobble up detective novels the way some people eat chocolate. I loved the series, and wish there were more. Hannah Sampson is a likable, capable, and very human sort of person struggling to find her way in a fascinating setting: the British Virgin Islands of the Caribbean.

The pace is fast, fun, and intriguing. The author's knowledge of the islands and their people shines through, and she captures the language cadence of the islanders beautifully.

If you're looking to vary your same-same urban detective novel with some exotic settings and breath-stopping (pun intended) underwater crime scenes, then try these Kathy Brandt novels.

Good reading for a general audience. Especially appealing to detective story buffs who dive, snorkel or are interested in the Caribbean.

This is the fourth and last Kathy Brandt novel in the series. I'm going to miss her heroine, Hannah Sampson, because I have felt a part of her journey into maturity in the British Virgin Islands. As I sit here by a winter fire, I am almost physically warmed by her descriptions of the tropical paradise and see through her words nature's inhabitants on land and in the sea. I have learned much about environmental issues that threaten to upset nature's balance. These novels entertain yet instruct. I wish there were more-- I need to escape this cold, dreary weather.

Loved the whole series. The main character is appealing and the setting is interesting! Highly recommended.

Besides an exciting, well-plotted out and plausible narrative, Brandt has created an interesting group of characters in a location that should go on everyone's 'bucket list.' I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

I did love this book, great plot twists and dangerous imagery! My only disappointment with the entire 4 book series was the ending. It cut off too abruptly for me. I needed some emotion and closure. Still recommend it for scuba mystery lovers!
I thought I'd scream if the author referred to Simon (one of the main characters) as "the kid" one more time. Buy a thesaurus.
