When I ordered this, I thought this was one of Donna Leon's newer books, as the title was not familiar. It turns out that it was published in 1995 and I had already read this one. I'm wondering if perhaps it was first published with a different title??

I have read all of the Guido Brunetti books by Donna Leon, love her writing, her characters, her descriptions of food and food preparation, the plot twists. This was was a little grittier than some I have read--I am often put off by depictions of violence that are a bit too graphic for me--but it didn't spoil the book because it was a bit more descriptive.
