It's spring break and love is in the air. Or is that a blend of Chanel no. 9 and Gucci Rush? Is there a difference?Blair moves in with Serena and they're back to being best friends. But will the love-fest last or will they end up tearing out one anothers newly highlighted hair? And speaking of new, Nate is on the straight and narrow, playing Nate-in-shining-armor to his crazy new girlfriend, Georgie. But he will definitely get more than he bargained for when he, Georgie, Blair, and Serena end up hanging out together in Sun Valley, Idaho. Back in Manhattan, Jenny is spending time with a mysteriously nice new boyfriend and Dan is spending time crying in the office of the Red Letter literary journal. And Vanessa, wait, is that Vanessa shopping at Barneys with a guy in a Lacoste shirt? The long cold winter is over and the sun is finally shining along Fifth Avenue. The trees are in bloom and NYC's most fabulous are ready for a truly outrageous vacation!

I just don't know why I keep reading. I should quit, but I hate not finishing a series to the end once I've started. As I've said in almost every other review for this series, I prefer the show. Maybe it's because of when the books were written that I'm not relating to or maybe it's the characters, but I'm just not relating to anything. I'm still wanting to know who gossip girl is, which I'm sure is the whole point of continuing to read it. But still just something about it I don't like. I think the "gossip" in this book is so unrealistic, every time the girls make up gossip about Serena and Blair I roll my eyes because half the time it just doesn't make sense. I understand the point of gossip is that it's not true, but usually gossip is at least close to the truth not as unrealistic as it is in this book. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's because I live in a small town and gossip is different here, who knows...

I am addicted to these books. They constantly have you wondering what is going to happen next. Great books for young adults.

I tried a couple GG novels and they just weren't my cup of tea. Maybe I'm too old for them. Leave them to the teens.

It decent but the plot was lacking excitement. Wish the books weren't so expensive. It's annoying how every time Jenny is mentioned are her boobs.

At long last spring break has arrived on the Manhattan prep school calendars. The topic of discussion for weeks has been who is going which fabulous location and partying with which equally fabulous other A-lister. If nothing else the stressed out Seniors have to do something to take their minds off the long awaited college letters. Blair is in desperate need of a break as she waits to hear from Yale and tries to avoid hearing her mother gush about the all too soon to arrive newest member of the family. Nate is celebrating his release from Rehab by taking to the slopes of Sun Valley with his latest girlfriend Georgina. Vanessa and Dan have recently been discovered by the Art world but the question is will they be taking it by storm together or separately. If you don't know who these people are go back to the beginning of the GOSSIP GIRL series about the lives of the wealthy prep schoolers who frequent only the best Manhattan parties.

The GOSSIP GIRL series (I LIKE IT LIKE THAT is the fifth) is a SEX AND THE CITY soap opera like series targeted for the 15 and over set. For those readers much over 15 it is definitely in the guilty pleasure category, but it is fun. The spoiled rich kids the series centers on are never short of cash and are rarely bothered by parental interference, in short they are living out every teenager's fantasy. This is absolutely a series to be read quickly and enjoyed without spending too much time thinking about whether or not it is realistic - seriously in what alternative reality would any parent insist on a seventeen year old girl sharing a room with her new step brother - also seventeen?
Of all the series I probably like "I like it like that" and "All I want is everything". Mostly because they have new characters and a lot of kinky stuff happens when Blair and Serena come up with crazy holiday fun. Such as St. Barts and this time in Sun Valley.

Nate had been caught buying pot and was sent to a rehabilitation centre. I was pretty happy about that because I wanted to see who Nate really was.. when he isn't high on pot. He cleans up but meets Georgina Sparks, a pretty 'snow white' look alike heiress, who surprisingly is a bigger druggie than Nate and his friends combined. Now, Nate is out of rehab but his stoned girlfriend still lives there after a freak accident with some pills a couple of weeks earlier. Georgie invites Nate over to her mum's ski condo in Sun Valley over Spring Break and he agrees to come.

Dan, who I'm not that fond of, is in a slump after his hit poem 'Sluts'. Unable to write anything up to par, especially since his dirty, poem buddy Mystery leaves suddenly on a 6 month world book tour. So there goes his inspiration.. and his kinky private life. His agent, Rusty Klein, gets him a rubbish job at Red Letter and he gets into a confusing upset with his little sister's best friend, Elise Wells.

Jenny is at first extremely happy with her new boyfriend, Leo, but soon drops him when she finds out about his life, his parents and how incredibly boring he is. Since Leo isn't good enough for Jenny's very high standards, he's gone and he's probably not coming back.

Vanessa is done with Dan, and thoroughly pissed off that he thinks he's unbreakable just from one poem. Oh and for cheating on her with yellow-toothed Mystery Craze. Good on her, I say.

And now to the interesting people. Serena and Blair. Blair is going insane at home and imediately agrees when Serena suggests that Blair live with her. A nice break from her crazy mother and hippie step - brother. I won't even begin on Cyrus, we all know Blair hates him. A spark starts when Blair gets some comforting advice from Serena's older brother, Erik, and since he and Serena invited her to Sun Valley for Spring Break, why not have a little well deserved fun?

So what a coincidence they all end up spending the week in Sun Valley and heck, why not throw Chuck in. I need not say this turns out to be a Spring Break to remember.
