Written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King wasn’t like the other shonen series when it premiered in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998. It was a story about Yoh Asakura, a young shaman who could communicate and infuse with dead. Takei’s artwork for the book often contained visual references found outside of Japan. Ponchi and Konchi, two animal spirits of a tanuki and fox, owe their design to John Kricfalusi’s cat and chihuahua duo Ren and Stimpy.

I am only sad that while this is the last book in the series, it didnt come to a conclusive end. but the item itself came in good condition

so the Final volume was great but there was one REALLY ANNOYING THING and that was the lack of the entire Funbari no Uta chapters. see Funbari no Uta is a middle series between this and shaman king flowers. it was supposedly included with vol 32 but clearly it is not. there is like one chapters worth in it.

Was my first Anime that I got into, it got here fast and convenient. Although I was a little disappointed with the ending, it did leave off for the next spinoff series! Keep on going!

For those who have read Shaman King up to this point, they know that it is a highly entertaining story with adorable, exaggerated, unique characters, edgy art, and even pinches of drama and the macabre. If Shaman King is new to you, then you will still love this volume. Just be sure to read the first couple pages for a brief overview of the previous chapters.

I love this volume because (I believe) it is the first in which Anna, the overbearing fiancee of our eternally laid-back hero, Yoh, really shows how much she loves Yoh (and gets jealous at the idea of him being unfaithful, though I will not reveal that hilarious scenario). The volume focuses on the fight that Yoh must face with his spirit, Amidamaru, to get into the Shaman Tournament, but he also faces a trial against Japanese Ainu shaman Horohoro in the end. There are more volumes, check those out too! I hope that everybody tries to get into Shaman King at one point or another. It is thought-provoking and also completely humourous, too. Highly, highly recommended.
