Caitlyn is left at the temple on her wedding day and is so humiliated that she has sworn off marriage for the rest of her life; that is, until she finds love along the way with a handsome dark haired cowboy from Colorado, who is also her Family Home Evening dad, Travis. This is one of Rebecca’s best books. The twists and turns she sends the main characters on to find love are the best parts of the book. Some of her books take some time to get hooked, but, in this one,.

This is a wonderful story about a young woman who discovers her connections to and interest in the LDS Church. She also learns the importance of family and knowing who you really are as she struggles through a nearly insurmountable forgiveness trial.

Definitely worth reading, I look forward to seeing future books by Rebecca Cornish Talley.

I loved Heaven Scent from the beginning. Liza is a teenage girl who is easy to relate to. Her father moves the family to another town. He has a promising job that he feels will bring the family happiness. Liza has to come to terms with leaving her friends and the life she had before the move. She also struggles with the demands of her fathers job. Her father is always working and Liza feels the family is neglected by his absense. As a reader, I could feel for Liza. I found myself wanting to read the book whenever I had a spare minute. As the story progresses you can feel the disappointment that Liza is feeling as her father continues to neglect the family. Liza's mother confides in her and tells her that she is also struggling with the same feelings and that she is finding peace in reading "The Book of Mormon". After a traumatic experience you are drawn more deeply to Liza and what she is going through. The story is very uplifting. It expresses the inner strength that Liza has even when everything else has crumbled around her. It shows us, as readers, that things can always get better if we choose to keep going, even when life gets tough. I loved the way the book deals with forgiveness. The story expresses how difficult it is to forgive, but also how vital it is for our own happiness. This is a story of forgiveness, peace, hope and healing. I would suggest this book to anyone wanting to read an uplifting and inspiring book.
